Ida Grove under boil advisory following power outage

IDA GROVE, Iowa (KCAU) — The City of Ida Grove has announced that they are under a boil advisory.

According to a Facebook post from Ida Grove, Wednesday morning’s power outage as well as the town’s water tower being empty for painting has caused a depressurization to their water system.

Due to the depressurization, the city has issued a boil advisory.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), during a boil advisory, people should use boiled water or bottled water for drinking and to prepare and cook food.

When boiling, bring water to a full rolling boil for one minute and let cool before use. Even if water is filtered, water should be boiled.

The City of Ida Grove said that any updates with the boil advisory will be posted to their Facebook page and website.
