This is the moment Liz Truss failed to hold her book the right side up on Fox News after she endorsed Donald Trump

Ms Truss, the shortest serving prime minister in British history, appeared on the news channel yesterday to show off her new book, titled Ten Years to Save the West.

A clip posted on X shows the MP chatting with host Brian Kilmeade on live TV before she fails twice to hold her book the right way up.

‘Great to see you, and here’s my new book. I’ll just get it up – sorry I’ll get it up front, there we are,’ she says as she struggles to hold it correctly.

An opinion piece by Ms Truss was published in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) this week titled The Deep State Lies in Wait for Trump – in which she writes: ‘His second term will be much like my time in office if he doesn’t confront the entrenched bureaucracy.’

Ms Truss served as Prime Minister of the UK for just 49 days in 2022, stepping down amid a government crisis. This made her the shortest serving prime minister ever in Britain.

Reacting to the article on X, journalist Bill Grueskin wrote: ‘Of all the people in the world to be offering Trump advice on governance and political strategy.’

Reacting to the clip from Fox News, one person commented: ‘Congratulations on being able to turn her book right way round.’

A second said: ‘Keep it up Liz, laugh a minute.’

A third wrote: ‘She did turn the UK economy upside down before she crashed it. It’s not surprising she does the same with her book.’

In the new book, a memoir, Ms Truss recaps her 49 days in office before she stepped down as prime minister.

The MP, who was the last of the 15 prime ministers to serve Queen Elizabeth II, also reveals how she was advised by the monarch to ‘pace’ herself.
