Remember when WWE‘s Night of Champions meant each championship in the company would get defended?
Unfortunately, that’s not the case as WWE creative opted for a six-match card for the live event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Featuring just three title matches and the advertised King and Queen of the Ring finals, it seems like the name of the event has lost its touch compared to previous years.
Missing from the event were both the men’s and women’s Intercontinental championships, tag team championships, and the WWE Women’s championship as well.

While the Women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan, still found herself on the card, it would not be for a title defense; instead, it would be for her Queen of the Ring Final match against IYO SKY.
Still, even with multiple championships missing from the card, WWE found a way to make it one of the most memorable live events in company history, as Sami Zayn would finally capture the Undisputed WWE Championship after an illustrious 10-year chase.
In a thrilling triple threat match between Sami Zayn, Gunther, and defending champion Cody Rhodes, all three superstars took each other to the limit, but it was ultimately the underdog Zayn who pulled out a last-minute roll-up to secure his first Undisputed WWE CHampionship.
