Ciara made sure to give his husband, Russell Wilson, his flowers after the star quarterback officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday.
Russell Wilson shared the news on Instagram via a video montage from his 14-year career, along with photos and videos of his family. In the clip, the 37-year-old expressed his gratitude for his time in the NFL, and Ciara gushed over her husband in the comments section.
“The best in the world!” Ciara wrote. “There’s only one, 3! Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!”
Following his retirement, Wilson confirmed that he is taking a TV job as an analyst on CBS’ Sunday NFL pregame show, replacing Matt Ryan, who recently joined the Atlanta Falcons as president of football after two seasons.

Russell Wilson had a stellar NFL career
After leaving NC State, Russell Wilson was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent his first 10 seasons with the Seahawks, helping them win their first Super Bowl in franchise history in 2013. He was traded to the Denver Broncos after the 2021 season and spent two years with them before playing one season each for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants.
Wilson threw for 46,966 yards, with 353 touchdown passes and 114 interceptions. He’s the only player in NFL history with at least 30 touchdown passes and fewer than 15 interceptions in four straight seasons. He also had three seasons with at least 30 touchdown passes and 500 rushing yards, the most in NFL history.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native also won NFL Rookie of the Year, was a Second-team All-Pro in 2019, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2020, and was a 10-time Pro Bowler.
