For the first time, PWHL player salaries are public knowledge.
The PWHLPA, the league’s players’ union, released a salary guide on Tuesday that showcases the salaries across the PWHL, consisting of players under contract at the time of publication.
Ottawa Charge forward Emily Clark tops the list at US$126,090 per year, while 2024 first-overall pick Sarah Fillier of the New York Sirens sits second at $125,000
Walter Cup champion and Canadian women’s national team legend Marie-Philip Poulin of the Montreal Victoire earns $110,216.
The salaries listed do not reflect bonuses or other incentives.
Salaries range from $37,131 to Clark’s $126,090 on the top end.
The PWHL agreed to an eight-year collective bargaining agreement in 2023, which stated that, at the time, the average annual base salary was $55,000 and will increase by three per cent annually.
The CBA also states that teams may have a variation of up to 10 per cent compared to the average salary due to player movement and new signings.
