Josh Manson hit Michael McCarron. Now, he’s taking a hit to his wallet.
The Colorado Avalanche defenceman was fined $5,000 by the NHL on Tuesday for butt-ending the Wild forward in Game 4 on Monday.
Manson received a double-minor on the first-period play, and the Wild scored on the ensuing power play.
However, the Avalanche came back to win 5-2 and take a 3-1 lead in the second-round series.
Game 5 is set for Wednesday back in Denver (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT).
The money paid for the fine goes toward the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
