Acuff, the seventh overall pick from Arkansas, made a splash at last week’s California Classic, averaging 23.5 points per game despite shooting poorly. Acuff hit just 16-of-48 overall and was 5-of-18 from deep. The Kings also brought the 29th overall pick, Alex Karaban from UConn to Las Vegas after he missed the California event with a sprained right ankle. Second-round selection Emanuel Sharp of Houston is also on the roster.
The Clippers took Wagler fifth overall after the guard led Illinois to the Final Four last spring. He put up 17.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists as a freshman for the Fighting Illini. LA brings a pair of second-round selections to Las Vegas as well, in center Baba Miller of Cincinnati and forward Nick Martinelli of Northwestern.
LA agreed to a deal to send two-time NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard back to the Toronto Raptors, getting back Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, and a package of draft picks. Wagler joins a backcourt that has Darius Garland, acquired in the James Harden trade in February. The Kings are built around veterans Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis and waived DeMar DeRozan earlier this week.
This is a great NBA matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
