Little Caesars teams up with Flytrex for pizza delivery

Little Caesars has partnered with the US drone delivery specialist Flytrex to introduce autonomous aerial delivery of its pizzas.

The service will use Flytrex’s latest model, the Sky2, which can carry loads of up to 8.8lbs.

This capacity allows Sky2 to transport “two large pizzas and sodas” in a single trip, which the partners present as a first in on-demand airborne food delivery.

The drone deliveries have gone live at a Little Caesars restaurant in Wylie, Texas.

That location features direct integration between the Flytrex app and Little Caesars’ existing platforms. As a result, orders placed through Flytrex are routed straight into the chain’s standard ordering systems.

Little Caesars Innovation vice-president Trish Heusel said: “Innovation at Little Caesars has always been driven by one thing—making it easier for customers to enjoy our pizza.

“Partnering with Flytrex to bring full family meals by drone delivery is a major leap forward, and a clear example of how we’re pushing the boundaries of convenience, speed, and accessibility in our category.”

Sky2 operates as a fully autonomous delivery system, with a flight range of up to four miles and the ability to conduct remote pick-ups directly from restaurant sites.

The drone features an octocopter layout with eight motors, alongside a dual-battery set-up and GNSS with RTK to support centimetre-level positioning.

Flytrex describes the Little Caesars agreement and the commercial launch of Sky2 as key developments in what it views as a standout year for the company.

Flytrex co-founder and CEO Amit Regev said: “Flytrex is laser-focused on making on-demand food delivery by drone a reality for everyday families.

“A big part of advancing this market is making sure people can get the food they actually want, when they want it. Until now, drones simply weren’t capable of delivering a full family meal.

“The Sky2 changes that. This partnership with Little Caesars expands what drone delivery can do and better meets customers’ expectations, which will drive real, lasting adoption of this technology.”

Last September, Uber Technologies collaborated with Flytrex to launch drone delivery service.

“Little Caesars teams up with Flytrex for pizza delivery” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
