LaVar Ball’s Timberwolves proposal for ‘guaranteed’ championship

LaVar Ball is known for being the father of Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball. He has also made a name for himself for his controversial takes about the NBA.

The Big Baller Brand CEO praised the Minnesota Timberwolves for trading for LaMelo from the Charlotte Hornets. He also urged the team to make two more moves to “guarantee” a championship:

“Minnesota Timberwolves: Y’all did the coldest move in the game,” Ball said. “You went and got Melo. Yes. But here’s the thing, let me give you the recipe. You got to get the other two Ball boys. You get the other two Ball boys, it will be the most watched team ever in the NBA. Trust me when I tell you.

“You don’t think I’m just talking? No, I’m not. Melo can’t win it by himself, but I tell you, with his brothers, I guarantee y’all a championship.”

Lonzo last played in the NBA last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team traded him to Utah on Feb. 5, but the Jazz waived him the next day. LiAngelo, on the other hand, retired from professional basketball on Aug. 6. He has since shifted his focus to music.

Chances of LaVar Ball’s proposal coming true

Ball cited his sons’ chemistry as a huge boost to Minnesota’s marketability and chances of winning a title. However, all three play at the guard spots, and the team is loaded at the one and two positions. LaMelo will start alongside Anthony Edwards in the backcourt, with Ayo Dosunmu, Donte DiVicenzo part of the rotation.

The Timberwolves also have Mike Conley, Bones Hyland and Terrence Shannon Jr. in their roster. The front office likely prioritizes adding depth at power forward and center, especially after trading Julius Randle and Naz Reid.
