The Winnipeg Jets have avoided arbitration with one of their top young players.
Cole Perfetti and the Jets have agreed on a five-year, $30-million extension worth $6 million in average annual value in order arbitration, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Wednesday.
His production took a step back in his fifth season, finishing with 12 goals and 20 assists in 68 games, after he put up a 50-point (18 goals, 32 assists) season in 2024-25.
Drafted 10th overall in 2020, the Whitby, Ont., native has 59 goals and 98 assists in 290 career games with the Jets since debuting in the 2021-22 season.
Perfetti, 24, and the Jets were set to head to arbitration on Monday.
