Generali Group has expanded its partnership with 3D geospatial products provider Intermap Technologies to cover more markets in central and eastern Europe.
As part of the broader arrangement, Generali will add Poland, Hungary and Slovenia to its use of Intermap’s Aquarius risk management & analytics (RMA) system.
The added scope aims to improve the assessment of natural hazard and climate-related exposures in those countries.
The system is used across the insurance process, including underwriting, accumulation management, reinsurance and claims handling.
Intermap chairman and CEO Patrick A. Blott said: “As climate volatility increases, insurers require consistent, high-resolution risk intelligence that scales across markets. Aquarius RMA provides Generali with a unified analytics platform to support underwriting discipline, portfolio resilience and capital allocation decisions across central Europe.
“We are proud to deepen our partnership with one of the world’s leading insurance groups. Recurring services revenue currently accounts for approximately 80% of Intermap’s revenue.”
The offering brings together automated risk assessment and geospatial data products to deal with large-scale risk issues more consistently.
The platform combines software, data and automation to process large amounts of location-based risk data into usable information.
Generali is using Intermap’s 3D terrain data and peril analytics to support underwriting, accumulation oversight and claims response in its Corporate, SME [small and medium-sized enterprises] and Retail business lines.
Generali CEE global corporate and commercial head and Generali CEE Holding non-life chief insurance officer Samuele Borghi commented: “By expanding our collaboration with Intermap to the highly exposed markets of Poland, Hungary and Slovenia, we strengthen our ability to assess natural catastrophe risks with greater precision.
“Equipping our teams with advanced geospatial intelligence for risk evaluation and regional accumulation control further enhances our underwriting and risk management capabilities.”
Last month, Generali renamed its global care platform Redion, bringing Europ Assistance and Generali Employee Benefits together under a single brand and operating identity.
“Generali broadens Intermap use in central and eastern Europe” was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.
