Middle East and North Africa (MENA)-based restaurant tech company Foodics has completed a 100% acquisition of Norma AI, a Greece-based AI company that focuses on analytics for hospitality and restaurant operators.
The deal comes after Foodics acquired an initial minority stake in Norma in the first quarter of 2025.
The earlier investment led to the integration of Norma’s tools into the Foodics ecosystem. The company said Norma’s technology has been adopted by more than 10,000 Foodics customer branches since its initial integration.
Norma co-founder George Henein said: “By joining forces with Foodics, we gain the scale, resources, and reach to accelerate the adoption of what we’re building.
“Combining Foodics’ market leadership with Norma’s expertise in AI and analytics creates a strong foundation for the next generation of hospitality technology.”
Under the now-finalised transaction, the entire Norma team has been moved into Foodics’ AI division.
Norma’s Analytics Agent and business intelligence application have been fully merged into the Foodics platform.
Foodics said its expanded AI division will now concentrate on developing the next wave of agentic AI tailored to restaurant operations, enabling operators to make intelligent, real-time decisions.
Foodics co-founder and CEO Ahmad Al-Zaini said: “As the industry grew more complex, so did the data – and turning that data into fast, confident decisions became one of the biggest challenges operators face.
“Our acquisition of Norma accelerates our agentic AI development roadmap and product releases and strengthens our value proposition. For our operators, that translates directly into greater efficiency, smarter decision-making, and healthier profit margins.”
Foodics supports more than 40,000 branches and continues to expand across the Gulf Cooperation Council and North Africa. The company said that it has processed more than six billion orders through its platform since launching in 2014.
“Foodics acquires Greece-based hospitality business Norma AI” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
