GATINEAU, Que. — The CPKC Women’s Open is returning to the national capital region next summer.
Canada’s lone stop on the LPGA Tour will be contested at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club from Aug. 18-22, 2027, event organizers announced Monday.
The last time Royal Ottawa played host was 2000.
“Gatineau is a passionate golf community, and we are excited to return to the province of Quebec and the national capital region for the CPKC Women’s Open. The Royal Ottawa Golf Club have been incredible partners to Golf Canada over the years, and we extend our sincere thanks to the membership and staff,” Golf Canada COO Garrett Ball said in a press release. “We are equally proud to partner with Ville de Gatineau, Tourism Outaouais, the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Tourism as we work collectively to deliver a memorable experience in 2027.”
The 2027 CPKC Women’s Open will mark the 14th time that the event has been contested in the province of Quebec and the first since 2011.
Royal Ottawa Golf Club, one of the oldest clubs in North America, was founded in 1891. The club holds the record for hosting the most Canadian amateur championships, including most recently the Canadian men’s amateur this past July.
It is also one of only eight clubs to host Golf Canada’s four premier events: the RBC Canadian Open, CPKC Women’s Open, and the Canadian men’s and women’s amateurs.
Canada’s Brooke Henderson won her second CPKC Women’s Open title last year in Mississauga, Ont., after defeating Minjee Lee by one stroke for her 14th LPGA Tour victory.
“There is something special about coming home and playing in front of your friends and family. I am really looking forward to seeing the fans at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club,” Henderson told Sportsnet.ca.
The CPKC Women’s Open goes on an east-west rotation each year and it makes sense to see the tournament continue to return to the Ottawa area with Henderson’s stardom continuing to shine. Henderson’s hometown of Smiths Falls, Ont., is about an hour from Royal Ottawa. The event was last hosted in the area in 2022 at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, won by Paula Reto.
The 2026 edition of the CPKC Women’s Open will take place Aug. 19-23 at Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton.
