Topa was assigned to the triple-A Buffalo Bisons.
The 35-year-old opened the season with the Minnesota Twins, appearing in 23 games with an 8.05 ERA before being released on May 23.
Topa, a right-hander from Binghamton, N.Y., has pitched in MLB since 2020 with the Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners and Twins. He holds a career 4.27 ERA across 172 appearances (one start) with nine saves.
