President Trump expressed concern for former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s family after photos of her husband cross-dressing in private messages to adult entertainers circulated online.
The Daily Mail released a trove of photos that include Bryon Noem donning faux breasts underneath a flesh-colored top, wearing hot pink shorts and making a kissy face.
“They confirmed it? Wow, well, I feel badly for the family if that’s the case. That’s too bad,” Mr. Trump told the Daily Mail. “I haven’t seen anything. I don’t know anything about it. That’s too bad, but I just know nothing about it.”
The images were allegedly part of hundreds of messages sent between Mr. Noem and three women in the “bimbofication” scene, which focuses on hypersexual, surgically enhanced bodies that include oversized breasts.
In a phone call with the news outlet, Mr. Noem was asked about having explicit conversations and sending photos, as well as indiscreet comments about his wife that could have threatened national security via blackmail.
“Yeah, I made no comments like that, that would lead to that. I deny the second part of that,” he said before hanging up.
Ms. Noem has not commented on the photos. She told The New York Times: “I will at some point. Today is not the day. I appreciate your heart.”
Residents of Castlewood, South Dakota, a small town neighboring the Noem family farm, did not believe the photos were real. Some chalked it up to artificial intelligence. Others said they just refused to believe it, having grown up with Mr. Noem and having never seen such behavior from him, they told The Times.
Still, the Noems’ marriage became the subject of intense speculation long before the photos surfaced. An alleged yearslong affair between Ms. Noem and her former adviser, Corey Lewandowski, was revealed in 2023.
Ms. Noem has repeatedly denied the affair over the years.
While she was head of the Department of Homeland Security, Ms. Noem was asked under oath at a congressional hearing about a sexual relationship with Mr. Lewandowski. She did not say no.
Instead, she said, “I am shocked that we’re going down and peddling tabloid garbage in this committee.”
Mr. Noem was sitting behind his wife at the hearing, where she was also scrutinized for the department’s aggressive immigration enforcement tactics.
Not long after she was pressed on Capitol Hill, Mr. Trump fired her from the department, demoting her to special envoy to the Shield of the Americas. He tapped Sen. Markwayne Mullin to replace her, and he was confirmed as homeland security secretary on March 23.
