Tristan Thompson made a rare comment about how the mothers of his kids — including Khloé Kardashian — are now “all friends” after past drama.
“We’re all friends. We’re all family,” Thompson, 35, shared on a recent episode of “The Katie Miller Podcast” about the different dynamics. “We all have each other’s contact info. We’re all in a great place, because I think that’s the No. 1 thing.”
He continued: “At the end of the day — no matter how you chop it up and no matter how you want to put it together — we’re all tied together. We’re all family, and our kids are all siblings. They’re going to be in each other’s life for a long time.”
Thompson credited everyone in the situation for being “mature enough to understand what’s the most important thing,” adding, “It’s our little tribe. … Coparenting [has been] great. The mothers of my children, they’ve been amazing. All of us are mature enough to understand that we all want to be great as parents.”
The professional basketball player is glad to be “on the same line of communication.”
“But what we’ve learned is that we just want the best for our children. It’s very easy to coparent when you have the same beliefs that you want best for the kids. Life is life,” he explained. “As long as you have a strong support system and our tribe is tight and we have each other’s back, that’s the most beautiful thing. Shout-out to my kids’ mothers, they’re phenomenal. They make my life easy.”
Thompson has repeatedly made headlines for his personal life. He started dating Kardashian, 41, in 2016 after his split from Jordan Craig as the former couple awaited the arrival of their son, Prince, now 9.

He became a father again when Kardashian gave birth to daughter True, now 7. Days before True’s arrival in 2018, Thompson cheated on his then-pregnant girlfriend with multiple women. Kardashian and Thompson initially stayed together but split when he kissed her sister Kylie Jenner’s BFF Jordyn Woods in 2019.
Us Weekly confirmed in August 2020 that Kardashian and Thompson were giving their romance another chance. Less than one year later, they called it quits again. The pair briefly reconciled in late 2021 before ending it for good when Thompson welcomed a baby with another woman named Maralee Nichols. Us later confirmed Thompson and Kardashian’s surrogate was pregnant with their second baby, son Tatum (now 3), at the same time of Thompson’s affair with Nichols.
“I take full responsibility for my actions,” Thompson wrote via his Instagram Story at the time before the arrival of his and Nichols’ son, Theo, now 4. “Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son. I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”
Thompson issued an apology to Kardashian for his multiple cheating scandals, writing, “Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”
In the years since the drama, Thompson has found a new normal with his exes. When asked about being the dad of four kids, he replied, “It’s just about having a schedule. The beauty is that all my kids are relatively around the same age and they love spending time with each other.”
Thompson praised each of his kids individually — without addressing Theo by name — before admitting he wouldn’t rule out expanding his family again.
“If God has it in my plans, so be it,” he said. “I’m open. I love children.”
