Terrance Gore’s ex-teammates reacted after his sudden death at 34


Three-time World Series champion Terrance Gore’s sudden death Friday night at age 34 stunned the baseball community.

Gore played 112 regular-season games for the Kansas City Royals (2014-17, 2019), Chicago Cubs (2018), Los Angeles Dodgers (2020), Atlanta Braves (2021) and New York Mets (2022). He specialized in pinch running, a role he played to perfection in the postseason with the eventual champion Royals (2015) and Braves (2021).

Saturday, Gore’s former teammates paid tributes to the speedy outfielder on social media.

“I’m stunned, RIP TG,” wrote former Royals infielder Ryan O’Hearn on Twitter/X.

“Heart broken for TG and his family,” veteran major league infielder Justin Turner, who played with Gore on the Los Angeles Dodgers, wrote Saturday on Twitter/X. “Rest easy champ.”

“Love you G baby,” former Royals utility player Whit Merrifield wrote on Twitter/X.

“There’s just no way.. this is heartbreaking,” former Royals outfielder Nick Heath wrote on Twitter/X. “Truly. Rest Easy brother.”

“RIP G Baby!” former Royals pitcher Brandon Finnegan wrote on Twitter/X. “What An amazing human being and teammate. Praying for your family!”

“The Dodgers express their sorrow over the sudden passing of Terrance Gore, a member of our 2020 World Series champions,” the team posted on its Twitter/X account. “We send our condolences to his loved ones.”

“We are heartbroken from the loss of Terrance Gore, and send our love to his family and loved ones,” the Royals wrote on Twitter/X.
