Report: Predators trade forward Michael McCarron to Wild

McCarron, a six-foot-six winger, has made his biggest impact with his physicality this season, tallying only five goals and seven assists, but has 60 blocked shots and 163 hits through 58 outings. He is averaging 14:33 of ice time per game and was a leader on Nashville’s penalty kill.

A native of Grosse Pointe, Mich., McCarron is in the final year of his contract and making $900,000 this season. The Predators scratched him from Monday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets for roster management reasons.

Originally drafted 25th overall in 2013 by the Montreal Canadiens, the 30-year-old has 33 goals and 41 assists over 361 games between the Canadiens and Predators.
