Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett made history during the 2025 NFL season. The veteran broke the single-season record in sacks against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18, finishing with 23, surpassing Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt (22.5 sacks), who co-owned the record before Garrett.
The record-breaking season allowed Garrett to win his second career NFL Defensive Player of the Year award Thursday night. He was the unanimous winner following his remarkable campaign. In an appearance on Micah Parsons’ podcast, the Green Bay Packers defensive end/linebacker asked Garrett what is next.
Garrett aimed high and said he would like to win the biggest individual award in the biggest game of the season.
“What’s next for me? Super Bowl, Super Bowl MVP,” Garrett said.
Considering how things are for the Cleveland Browns, it is unlikely to see Garrett playing in the Super Bowl anytime soon. The AFC North posted a 5-12 record in 2025, as they struggled to find consistency at the quarterback position.
2026 doesn’t seem to be shaping up any differently, as the Browns will play under a new head coach in Todd Monken, whose signing has been surrounded by controversy.
Myles Garrett explained how Seahawks’ defense can stop Patriots’ offense in Super Bowl 60
In addition to his ambitious goals, Myles Garrett touched on Super Bowl 60. He offered advice to the Seattle Seahawks on how to stop Drake Maye and the Patriots’ offense.
“Four-man rush,” Garrett said. “If you can get away with three, you want to get as many guys covering on the back end. But if you can get a good four-man rush, you can take them out. It’s just about how much pressure you can get on the interior. He’s going to hold the ball if you can stop the run as well.
“I’m not going to take anything away from their backs, they’ve been playing pretty well, playing some good ball. But if you can take them out of the game, as you can see, the Broncos had a chance down the stretch.”
Garrett has been one of the best defenders in the NFL, the cornerstone of one of the best defenses in the league. However, it seems that he won’t win with the Browns. DeMarcus Lawrence left Dallas last year and will play his first Super Bowl with the Seahawks in Santa Clara, Calif.
