Morrissey cancels concert because he’s too tired

Morrissey backed out of his latest concert due to alleged noise in his hotel.

The “Messages From Morrissey” blog on his official website stated that Thursday’s “scheduled show in Valencia,” Spain, at the Palau de les Arts “has been rendered impossible due to sleep deprivation.”

“Morrissey drove from Milan to Valencia but has been unable to rest in Valencia due to noise,” the entry continued.

“Circumstances render the show impossible,” the blog read.

Another post described Morrissey’s hotel as “indescribable hell” and claimed that “It will take [him] one year to recover. And that is an understatement.”

Foremost among the “Irish Blood, English Heart” hitmaker’s complaints was an apparent proliferation of noise.

“Having travelled for two days by road, Morrissey reached the hotel in Valencia late on Wednesday,” yet another March 12 entry read.

“Any form of sleep or rest throughout the night was impossible due to festival noise / loud techno singing / megaphone announcements.” Morrissey claimed that the “experience has left [him] in a catatonic state.”

A rep for the singer did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for further comment on Thursday.

The 66-year-old singer previously canceled a show in Rancho Mirage, Calif., in January.

“Due to an adverse reaction to a prescription medication, the Morrissey concert originally scheduled on Saturday January 3, 2026 has been postponed,” read a statement at the time, per the Morrissey-Solo site, noting that tickets would be “honored for a rescheduled date.”

Also in January, the San Diego Civic Theatre announced a Morrissey show was canceled in an Instagram upload featuring the singer.

Morrissey — who released his 14th solo album, “Make Up Is a Lie,” last week — also canceled several shows last year. A Stockholm performance scheduled for June 23 was nixed, with the singer claiming a lack of support.

“The pain at not reaching Stockholm this week is horrific for the band and crew,” he wrote in a blog post at the time.

“I know it’s impossible for people to understand, but we dream of Stockholm, Reykjavik, Trondheim, Helsinki, Aarhus … but there is no financial support from imaginary record labels to get us to such places.”

He wrote that the band could “barely see” after traveling to six countries.  “We pray to God that someone, somewhere can help us reach Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark … where we have thousands upon thousands of friends, yet absolutely zero music industry support.”

He also canceled shows in Boston and Connecticut in September, per a Facebook announcement.

“In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey’s life,” the Sept. 19 post read, noting that they’d be canceling the engagement “Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience.”
