A deal that seemed locked in completely unraveled Tuesday night. The Las Vegas Raiders announced their agreement to trade Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens had collapsed, with the team stating that Baltimore “backed out of our trade agreement.”
The reason surfaced shortly after through multiple reports. Crosby failed his physical examination in Baltimore. The two franchises had reached terms on Friday for a massive trade that would have sent the star defensive end to the Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks.

Under NFL rules, all trades require players to pass a medical evaluation before becoming official. This standard procedure became the dealbreaker in what would have been one of the most significant defensive acquisitions of the offseason.
Baltimore fans had plenty of reasons to get excited about the potential addition. Crosby has built an impressive resume over seven seasons with the Raiders, recording 278 solo tackles, 161 assists, 69.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, and one interception. The enthusiasm did not last long once the medical concerns came to light.
Maxx Crosby reveals routine that changed his career
Before any of this news broke, Crosby had sat down with Rams linebacker Jared Verse on The Rush podcast. The two discussed what separates elite players from the rest, and Crosby opened up about the work that transformed his career.
“I stretch every night, no matter what, I’ll stretch 365, before I go to bed every single night. I swear to God, it changed my career, bro. I started doing that back in college. You’ve watched some of my film, and I’m bending, doing weird [expletive], the run game, and making people miss, because you’re not second guessing yourself,” Crosby said.

His point went beyond just flexibility. Crosby explained how daily preparation eliminated the hesitation that plagued him early in his career. He used to reach the top of a rush and freeze instead of committing fully to bending around the edge. The constant work on flexibility and grip strength built the kind of confidence that removes doubt once the play starts.
When a rusher already has speed off the edge and reliable power moves, the ability to dip and turn corners cleanly becomes what separates good from great. It leaves offensive tackles guessing instead of reacting with any certainty.

Maxx Crosby explains offseason mindset most players avoid
Crosby also touched on how players approach the offseason, and his philosophy runs counter to what most do after a successful year.
“Like every offseason, a lot of players think, ‘Okay, I had a good season. Now we’re gonna build off of that,’ No, you gotta break that [expletive] down to the studs and figure out, ‘Okay, I need to get better here. I need to get stronger here. Maybe my left footed stands compared to my right is not as good. I need to work on it,’ It’s just little [expletive] like that that’s gonna take your game to the next level,” Crosby added.

Maxx Crosby’s agent issues update after trade collapse
The irony of that conversation is hard to miss given what happened next. The Raiders retain Crosby while he works through a significant knee injury. Baltimore needs to pursue other options to upgrade their pass rush.
Crosby’s future remains uncertain as he recovers from an injury serious enough to derail a blockbuster trade.
His agent, C.J. LaBoy, responded quickly after the news surfaced.
LaBoy insisted his client is “ahead of schedule” in his recovery and will return stronger than before, maintaining that Crosby remains the type of player who creates problems for offensive coordinators during game preparation.
