Kris Jenner reveals what Kylie ‘spent every dime’ of her ‘KUWTK’ earnings on at age 17

Kris Jenner revealed Kylie Jenner spent “every dime” of her “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” money to launch her Kylie Cosmetics business when she was 17 years old.
The famed momager, 70, recalled the moment her youngest daughter came up to her with her business idea on Monday’s episode of Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes’ “Smartless” podcast.
“She goes, ‘Mom, I know what I want to do for the rest of my life, and it’s beauty. And I want to, you know, do this lip kit, and now you’ve got to take this and run with it and figure out how to make it,’” Kris recalled.
After making some calls, Kris then asked her daughter what she wanted to do for the brand’s marketing campaign.
“Like, you know, we need an ad in People Magazine, and we need to have a billboard,” she told the young entrepreneur, stressing over the details.
But, Kylie, now 28, was allegedly unconcerned with coming up with the minor details.
“She goes, ‘Are we okay, mom? Like, I know what I’m doing. Just relax.’ And I said, ‘I can’t relax. You just spent every dime you’ve ever made on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ to start your own brand by yourself with your own money. And I’m a little nervous. Mom’s a little… You know, you’re 17 years old, so what are you doing?’” she said.
Kylie went on to launch her Kylie Cosmetics brand with her Kylie Jenner Lip Kits in 2015 and it quickly became a rapid success, catapulting the reality star to billionaire status by 2019.
“I’ll never forget the morning she launched her brand, which was the first time she disrupted an entire beauty business,” Kris told the hosts.
“She pressed send on the link to go buy this and put a post out. ‘Go buy my Lip Kit.’”
“I think it was four seconds, and we thought the site crashed because we had to launch, and it was just sold out in seconds. And then we knew, you know. Then it was on,” Kris gushed of her daughter.
“She was the first one to do that,” she said.
Last October, Kylie marked the 10-year anniversary of her eponymous makeup brand with the release of her limited edition King Kylie Lip Kit collection, a nod to her King Kylie era.
She also celebrated the drop with several makeup-themed shoots.
