The Colorado Avalanche have a chance to lock up home-ice advantage throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Tuesday.
Per the NHL, the Avalanche have two chances to clinch the 2025-26 Presidents’ Trophy when they take on the St. Louis Blues.
The Avs will secure the league’s best overall record in the regular season if they defeat the Blues in regulation and the Boston Bruins beat the Carolina Hurricanes in regulation.
They can also clinch the Presidents’ Trophy if they defeat the Blues in overtime or shootout and the Bruins beat the Hurricanes in regulation, combined with any result in the Lightning-Senators game other than a Lightning regulation win.
That’s far from the only thing Colorado has to play for on Tuesday, however, as it can also clinch both the Central Division and Western Conference titles.
