Elijah Wood is ringing in his kids’ latest chapter.
The Lord of the Rings actor offered rare insight into his life as a dad to his 6-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter—whom he shares with wife Mette-Marie Kongsved—revealing that he is relishing the current stage of their development.
“We’re well out of toddlerville and they’ve entered kid-dom,” he told The Times in an interview published March 6. “It’s incredible.”
And while the youngsters—whose names have not been shared publicly—seem to be growing at a rapid pace, Elijah, 45, admitted he doesn’t think they’re ready to screen the Peter Jackson fantasy trilogy that made their dad a household name.
“They have not [seen it],” he revealed. “But only because I genuinely don’t think they’re old enough. I feel like it might be appropriate when they are 8.”
In the meantime, Elijah and Mette-Marie have introduced their kids to other classics like The Wizard of Oz and Jumanji, though he remarked that the latter was “way scarier and more f–ked up than I remember.”
