Donald Trump orders government to release files on ‘extremely important’ matter of aliens, UFOs
President Trump says he is ordering the government to release documents related to aliens and UFOs.
Mr. Trump said he made the decision based on “tremendous interest” shown in the topic.
“I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters,” he wrote on Truth Social late Thursday.
Interest in possible government information about extraterrestrial life has exploded in recent years.

Congress held a series of high-profile hearings on the topic. Witnesses spoke about unexplained flying objects, and suggested the government had not been forthcoming with all it knows about the subject. However, the hearings did not produce smoking-gun evidence of aliens.
The issue resurfaced this week after former President Barack Obama said aliens are “real” during an appearance on Brian Tyler Cohen’s “No Lie” podcast.
“They’re real, but I haven’t seen them, and they’re not being kept in … Area 51,” he said. “There’s no underground facility, unless there’s this enormous conspiracy, and they hid it from the president of the United States.”
Mr. Obama later clarified that he believed the universe is so vast that aliens must exist and that he saw no evidence of alien visitations to Earth during his presidency.
Initially, Mr. Trump said Mr. Obama erred by revealing classified information. Hours later, the president’s social media post indicated he wanted to reveal everything.
