The drought lives on for Canadian men’s curling at the world championship.
Niklas Edin led Sweden to a 9-6 victory over Canada’s Team Matt Dunstone and captured gold at the world championship in Ogden, Utah.
With the win, Edin has earned a record eighth career world title, the sixth following a victory over Canada.
The Swedish rink took advantage of its ends with hammer, using each opportunity as a chance to score two and maintain its lead over Canada as it cruised to victory.
With the loss, Team Matt Dunstone completes its first-ever world men’s curling championship appearance with a silver medal. The Manitoba rink consists of Colton Lott at third, E.J. Harnden at second, Ryan Harnden at lead and Dunstone at skip.
