Most useful Pals for early to mid-game in Palworld

Palworld’s best Pals aren’t just good in a fight – they’re masters of the world, helping you get around, craft, gather, and even unlock chests. While the late game is all about pure DPS, you’re going to need lots of resources and a decent base to get there.

I’ve put together a list of some of the best Pals with the best Partner Skills for the early to mid-game, focusing on their all-round usefulness.

Four players take flight over the open world of Palworld.
  • Mimog – these rare Pals disguise themselves as treasure chests like mimics and set of running once they know the ruse is up. Creep up on one and hit it in the back with your best ball for the best chance of success.
  • Partner Skill: Unlock – when near a treasure chest, Mimog can open the chest without using a key. The type of treasure chest that can be opened depends on the skill level.
  • Herbil – a herb-loving gerbil, this Grass Type Pal can be found roaming around Sunlit Isle. This Pal is perfect to have on your team when you’re exploring solo.
  • Partner Skill: Herbil Pulse – while in team, Herbil uses its healing powers to revive the player when incapacitated.
  • Vixy – a cute Pal found in the Windswept Hills, every player should put one of these in a ranch as soon as possible for free blue balls and arrows.
  • Partner Skill: Dig Here – sometimes digs up items from the ground when assigned to Ranch.
  • Rushoar – this boar-like Pal is one of the early game mounts and it’ll help you gather ore way quicker than your pickaxe.
  • Partner Skill: Hard Head – increases efficiency of destroying boulders while mounted.
  • Eikthyrdeer – this deer is basically your Rushoar but for wood. Ride it and get chopping.
  • Partner Skill: Guardian of the Forest – can perform a double jump while mounted. Increases efficiency of cutting trees.
  • Foxparks – this spicy little fox is quite powerful in the early game and will also keep you warm when you travel with it through cold areas.
  • Partner Skill: Huggy Fire – when activated, equips to the player and transforms into a flamethrower.
  • Fuddler – this unassuming little gent has a strong back and increases your ability to carry more items before fat walking.
  • Partner Skill: Mining Assistance – while in party, improves player mining efficiency by (30~60)% and reduces Stone weight by (80~100)%.
  • Turtacle – small but mighty, this snazzy guy helps you carry ore.
  • Partner Skill: Spikey Carrier – while in party, reduces Ore weight by (80~100)%. (Does not stack)
