The Seattle Seahawks have locked up one of their top weapons.
Reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba reached an agreement with the Seahawks on a four-year, $168.6-million contract extension, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday.
The 24-year-old wideout led the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards in 2025, adding 10 touchdowns. He added another 199 yards and two touchdowns in the playoffs to help the Seahawks win their first Super Bowl since 2014.
The deal averages $42.2 million per season, and includes over $120 million in guaranteed money, which are both records for a wide receiver.
Smith-Njigba first broke out with an 1,130-yard, six-touchdown year during his sophomore season in 2024, and was rewarded with his first Pro Bowl appearance.
He was earning an average annual value of only $3.6 million on his rookie contract.
Smith-Njigba was selected by the Seahawks in the first round, 20th overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The deal locks down one of the best pass-catchers in the game atop a Seahawks receiver room that also includes Cooper Kupp and Rashid Shaheed as Seattle attempts to repeat in 2026.
