≡ Top 10 Most Controversial Moments of Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Show 》 Her Beauty

Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show “With Love, Meghan” went viral for all the wrong reasons. With people criticizing the show for being tone-deaf and out of touch, many episodes weren’t as relatable as Meghan hoped. Here are all of the more controversial (and cringe-worthy) moments from the show.

1. When she corrected Mindy Kaling

When Mindy referred to the Duchess as “Meghan Markle,” she corrected the actress, reminding her that her name is Meghan Sussex. Was this a faux pas that somehow made it past the editing team at Netflix, or was it intentionally scripted so she could address the media who calls her Meghan Markle? Regardless, Mindy’s shocked and awkward reaction was priceless!

2. All the puns

The show kicks off with Meghan harvesting honey from her own bees. Apparently, the goal of the show is to be relatable, but is having your own personal beehive relatable? Even worse, she made some dad jokes, calling the insects “busy bees” who “work hard for the money.” She also says things like “a latte love” and other cringe-worthy puns.

3. “Homemade” gift bags

One thing we learned about Meghan is that she loves making gift bags for guests that stay in her home. While we were expecting something a little classy or homemade, she simply “curated” a gift bag by putting Trader Joe’s peanut butter pretzels into a fancy cellophane bag to turn it into a “gourmet snack.” Was the televised presentation truly necessary?

4. Lots of self-promotional product placement

Jam is a sample of Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever, and “With Love, Meghan” won’t let you forget it. The jam is featured in pretty much every episode, and one of the worst references to her business is when she whips up a batch of shortbread cookies. She tells the audience that they don’t need to make their own from scratch, winking at the camera and saying, “If you just want to buy one of those mixes, [cough] do it.” Of course, As Ever has a shortbread mix that will be for sale.
