The Dutch women’s 4×400 relay team clinched the gold medal at the world indoor athletics championships in Glasgow on Sunday evening, beating the US and Britain.

The Dutch team, who won the outdoor title last year, completed the distance in 2.35.07, shaving 0.59 of a second from the Dutch record.

The Dutch men’s team won the bronze medal in their event, behind Belgium and the US, also in a new Dutch record time of 2.04.25.

Bol earlier won gold in the 400 metres, in which she also set a new world record. Team mate Lieke Klaver took silver in that event.

The Dutch squad will return home from Glasgow with five medals: two gold, one silver and two bronze. Sofie Doktor earlier won bronze in the pentathlon.
