Vick Hope has paid a heartfelt tribute to Radio 1 co-host Jordan North after it was announced he’d quit after a decade with the broadcaster.

Taking to Instagram Vick, 34, shared a slew of throwback snaps and clips of the pair together and described him as a ‘legend’ and an ‘incredibly special friend’.

However the DJ, who has hosted the Going Home show with Jordan, 34, since 2021, admitted her disappointment at not being able to give a ‘proper on-air send off’ ahead of his abrupt exit.

She penned:  ‘Absolutely gutted, to be honest. Our @jordannorth1 you’re a true @bbcradio1 legend, a dreamy co-host, and an incredibly special friend. There are too many memories for these collages, but what a laugh we’ve had’.

‘Thank you for sharing your wit and your warmth; your stories, your skill and your spirit. Going Home with Vick and Jordan has been such a mad, chaotic ride,’.

She continued: ‘I’ve loved being on this journey with you for a little bit, and will always support and cheer for you as you embark on the next chapter’.

‘You’re about to soar, everyone is going to love you as much as we do, just please look after yourself there. And keep the tunes coming’.

‘I’m so sad we didn’t get a proper on-air send off, but I guess (inadvertently, accidentally appropriately) killing off Judge Jordan this week will have to do as a radio goodbye’.

Before adding: ‘To our listeners, thank you for joining us every day and being the heart and soul of the show. Let’s welcome lovely, brilliant @jamielaing with open arms and all have a bloody excellent time together’.

Following Jordan’s huge announcement, it was revealed Jamie Laing, 35, will take his place – Monday to Thursday, 3.30pm to 6pm – alongside Vick

Roman is reportedly set to leave Capital Radio after seven years of hosting the channel’s breakfast show alongside Chris Stark and Siân Welby

According to sources,  Jordan is set to replace Roman.

Insiders revealed to The Sun that Jordan had signed a big money deal with the rival station.

The source said: ‘Jordan is moving to Capital FM to replace Roman and he could not be more excited. It is absolutely huge for him and although it’s hard to leave the BBC he is excited to get started on Capital.

‘Jordan’s decision has been a hard pill to swallow for the BBC but there was nothing they could do to change his mind.’

MailOnline has contacted Jordan, Roman and Capital for comment.
