Follow Mail Sport’s live blog for the latest score, team news and updates as we provide you with the latest news from both Champions League games tonight which sees PSG led up front by Kylian Mbappe host Spanish side Real Sociedad, whilst Harry Kane and co travel to Italy for Lazio vs Bayern Munich.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Musiala slides to grab a ball from Mazraoui in the six-yard box, but although he can’t poke it goalwards, he can win a corner kick.

Very little comes of it however as the ball leaps back out of the area, and Lazio look to set up a foray into the Bayern half.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Lazio are flooding forward now, bothering on both the left and the right, and looking far more exhilirated than their German visitors.

They have a corner now, which reaches a sky blue head before richocheting off Kim for a second.

The second is played short, but when it is wafted into the box, it’s knocked back easily by a Bayern head to set up a counter-attack.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

What a chance for Lazio! Isaksen sneaks the ball away from Upamecano to go one-on-one with Neuer but he waits a hair too long and the Germany No 1 pulls off a crunch save.

I was just wondering whether Bayern would leap out of the gates after being given a talking to by Tuchel. It appears I had the wrong team in mind…

SECOND-HALF

We’re back underway in both of this evening’s goalless ties – let’s see what the second-half has in store for us!

Rio Ferdinand praises Jamal Musiala as he hails the Bayern Munich and Germany youngster as a potential future Ballon d’Or winner

Musiala has, as usual, been a bright spark for the visitors at Stadio Olimpico this evening, but he’s yet to prove the difference in Rome.

Ahead of kick-off, Rio Ferdinand shared his thoughts on the talented young starlet – you can read more of them here.

WATCH: Real Sociedad’s would-be rocket

This, I’m afraid, is the closest thing we have to a highlight from an… academic… first 45 minutes across the continent.

HALF-TIME

Bring out the chess match metaphors! Both ties this evening have been cagey, frustrating affairs, and so far, the underdogs are doing extremely well to subdue the so-called big beasts.

Of all four sides, Real Sociedad might be heading into the dressing room the happiest, having had a number of fine chances and largely subdued Mbappe et al.

PSG 0-0 Real Sociedad

Traore burst down the right as Real Sociedad look to be the first to draw blood at Parc des Princes. He finds Mendez, who sends the ball to Merino, and he unleashes an absolute flyer that pings off Donnarumma’s fingers.

What a strike that might have been…

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Muller scythes through the midpack before finding Sane on the right, but too easily the German champions are pushed back by a buzzy Lazio side.

Guendouzi is on the run now, finding Isaksen in the box. Under pressure, he tries to sneak the ball to Immobile, but his pass is imperfect, and Bayern can leap on top of the burgeoning threat.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Musiala collapses in the grass after picking up a cute pass from Goretzka in the penalty area and firing into the stands after being caught by a Lazio defender.

These missed chances are starting to add up, and Lazio may be feeling mentally stronger as they keep the tie level.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Alberto is perfectly placed to stop a nail-biting run from Musiala, who reaches the dead ball line before sending a cut-back pass towards Kane.

The England captain is thwarted, however, and perhaps, you wonder, a little rattled on the heels of Bayern’s performance against Leverkusen over the weekend.

PSG 0-0 Real Sociedad

After a fine chance from a corner is palmed just wide of goal by Remiro, PSG gather for another one. This time proves just as frustrating, as the ball pings around in the box before just glancing over the crossbar.

We’re still deadlocked across Europe.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Musiala skips forward before he’s tumbled by Gila with a strong frame and a trailing foot. Bayern have a good-looking freekick just ahead of the edge of the box, and it’s Kane who steps up after a lengthy debate with his team-mates.

It’s a fake-out, as he sprints off, Muller sneaks it to Sane, and he leathers it towards the goalkeeper – but the fine chance pings off the post!

PSG 0-0 Real Sociedad

Things are goalless in the night’s second tie too, with Real Sociedad similarly keen to keep their hosts at bay.

PSG look to force their way up the pitch but they’re pegged back by Real Sociedad – who have had the clearer chances so far, including a strong chance from Merino.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Isaksen surges forward again on the right, but he’s muscled out of possession and quick as a flash, Bayern Munich begin their march up the pitch.

Mazraoui looks to pick out Muller with a ball on the sideline but it’s knocked out by a sprinting sky blue shirt at the last. Lazio are certainly frustrating their guests.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Bayern could be starting to wish some of those earlier chances paid off as the hosts grow in stature, looking more confident streaking up the pitch.

Immobile is pushed back, but as Lazio come again, it’s Alberto who decides to take matters into his own hands after being slid the ball at the top of the box. He fires at Neuer, but his effort isn’t without optimism.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Musiala sneaks into the box but is overturned and forced off the ball by a full-throated Lazio defence. They’ve worked well so far this evening, with Bayern finding limited room to truly threaten as the clock ticks towards the 20-minute mark.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Kane gets his first chance of the night in the thick of the Lazio box after receiving a cut-back pass from Muller, but he can’t strike the ball cleanly and it flies over the crossbar.

Bayern are enjoying spending time in Lazio’s half – Sarri’s side have benefitted from their opponents not yet found their clinical edge.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

Guendouzi tangles in the centre of the pack but Lazio can’t cling onto possession as Tuchel’s side look to settle in the driving seat.

Mazroui looks for a route down the right but pushed back, it’s Goretzka on the right who tries next. Lazio are holding up well in these opening moments, and next look to wade into the Bayern half.

Isaksen wins a freekick deep in enemy territory as he’s felled by Goretzka.

Lazio 0-0 Bayern Munich

The Roman stadium is alive as Sane skitters down the right looking for an early breakthrough on the road.

He cuts to Kimmich at the top of the box, and rattles it towards Provedel, but the shot glances just wide.

KICK-OFF: We’re underway in Europe

In Rome and Paris, the referees blow their whistles, and tonight’s European action begins.

Late change for Lazio

Cataldi ends up keeping his place after all, after Vecino was injured in the warning.

An early ominous portent for Sarri?

The anti-Hidalgo banners have been unfurled by the PSG ultras

Translated loosely as: ‘Get out, pack up, you’re making us angry’ – with better French rhyming.

Ciro Immobile on pace-setting with Harry Kane

Scorer to scorer, the talismanic Lazio forward shared his thoughts on Kane on Tuesday:

Numbers are important for a striker. Being able to compare myself with top-level players like Harry Kane is a big motivation for me.

It allows me to understand the level I have reached in my career. But it’s not a direct match with Kane that matters but the match between Lazio and Bayern.

Battle of the Stamford Bridge outcasts

Their sackings may have come under two different regimes in west London, but both Thomas Tuchel and his opposite number Maurizio Sarri know what it’s like to be shown the door in SW6.

Granted, it’s hardly rare for former Chelsea managers to come up against one another, what with the enormously high number of them floating around from the hire-and-fire experts.

Tuchel and Sarri have never previously met, but both claimed European trophies with the Blues – the Italian manager swiping the Europa League in 2019, and his opposite number hoisting this competition’s trophy aloft two years later in Porto.

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to host

PSG are in the building, with Mbappe looking ludicrously French in the side’s custom pre-match Dior suits.

There’s been a lot of debate over Man City’s somewhat dubious Dsquared2 jackets. Unfortunately, Kylian and Co – dressed for a trip to the Elysee Palace – make them look very shabby indeed.

Bayern Munich and the Bundesliga trophy – for over a decade they’ve been inextricable. But Saturday night’s wake-up call shunted them further from the top spot as upstarts Bayer Leverkusen shored up their footing in a highly competitive title race.

For Kane – who travelled to Germany with trophies on his mind – this might seem unfathomable, particularly as he continues to snap up goalscoring records. But could Champions League glory be Bayern’s surest shot at silverware?

The atmosphere is already jumping inside Parc des Princes

During their home match over the weekend, the ultras held up banners calling on Paris’ mayor Anne Hidalgo to resign after it was announced that the French champions would not be allowed to buy their home since 1974 – and are set to leave in a bid to expand.

Could we see more tonight in a bid to catch eyeballs across Europe?

Where WILL Kylian Mbappe end up next season?

It feels like decades since rumblings first started that the talismanic France captain might move west to Real Madrid. He’s Paris Saint-Germain’s player for the moment, but scarcely a week passes without rumours that he might be happier playing elsewhere.

Who knows for sure? Not even France team-mate – and potential Real Madrid team-mate Aurelien Tchoumeni.

You can read our full report below.

TEAM NEWS – in brief

Kylian Mbappe is back in the mix after being left out for the weekend’s tie against Lillie due to an ankle knock, and prodigal forward Warren Zaire-Emery comes back into the side.

For those unwilling to sit through the natty video posted by the club on social media, their line-up is as follows: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Pereira, Marquinhos, Beraldo, Zaire- Emery, Fabian, Vitinha, Dembele, Mbappe, Barcola.

Their opponents make four changes from the side that lost to Osasuna over the weekend, with Arsenal loanee Tierney continuing to miss out due to injury.

In Rome, Thomas Tuchel makes three tweaks with Eric Dier dropping to the bench, but his former Tottenham team-mate keeps his place leading the line for Bayern Munich.

Just one change from the other former Chelsea manager at Stadio Olimpico, as Maurizio Sarri brings in Matias Vecino for Danilo Cataldi.

Breaking: TEAM NEWS – PSG and Real Sociedad’s starting XIs

Breaking: TEAM NEWS – How Lazio and Bayern Munich line up

Look sharp, Bayern! Harry Kane cut a despondent figure during the side’s hefty defeat to title-challengers Bayer Leverkusen over the weekend, and his manager has no wish to see lightning strike twice.

The key to success, Tuchel says, is giving the ball to Harry – you can read his pre-match thoughts in full below.

Breaking new ground in Paris

Surprisingly, tonight’s opponents at Parc des Princes have never met one another in competitive action, only facing off in four friendlies.

But Real Sociedad might be cheered by the lingering threat of nationality – PSG have exited the competition at the hands of Spanish opponents in five of their last six Champions League campaigns.

However… that could be cold comfort for the visitors. Sitting seventh in LaLiga having won just once in their last five league run-outs, they’re up against hosts on an intimidating 15-game winning streak.

Will we see an upset tonight?

Certainly, last night was pretty light on surprises.

Manchester City were level with Copenhagen at Parken for a spell, before bedding down and making sure they returned to the Etihad with a comfortable two-goal cushion.

Real Madrid too escaped the earliest of scares when Benjamin Sesko’s third-minute strike was chalked off by VAR, and went on to win 1-0 in Leipzig.

You can review Ian Ladyman’s report of last night’s action in Copenhagen below.

A sobering warning for the tourists

Last time out – Lazio versus Bayern Munich

Both sides met at the exact same stage just three years ago, but Maurizio Sarri – who joined the club at the end of that season – will hope for a different turn of events.

Again kicking off in Rome, the Bundesliga behemoth smashed their opponents 4-1 at Stadio Olimpico, and 2-1 on home soil.

Good evening!

Hello and welcome to Mail Sport’s live blog covering this week’s second evening of piping-hot Champions League action.

Kicking-off at 8pm sharp, Lazio will host Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich, keen for an immediate bounce-back in Rome after Saturday night’s humbling against Bayer Leverkusen.

In Paris, the capital’s serial league-winners PSG welcome Real Sociedad, who will hope to be this year’s team that – inevitably? – halts Luis Enrique’s side’s European top flight run.
