Organizers asking for input on upcoming Sioux City art gallery event

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU)– Event coordinators for a local art festival are asking the community what they would like to see for their upcoming event.

The third annual Gallery in the Sky, where artists flood the downtown skywalk with art, is swiftly approaching and officials wanted to change up how this year’s event is put together by inviting Siouxlanders to give their ideas for the art festival.

“There are plenty of businesses, and apartment buildings, and people who live right around the skywalk that walk there every day, use the parking ramps. So we think it’s important to get the people who actually use this space and hear their stories and what they care about, and reflect that in the artwork to make it more personal and real,” said Jessica Hammond, with ‘Gallery in the Sky’.

A date hasn’t been set for Gallery in the Sky however, Hammond says it will be sometime in April.
