This is the moment a man drove his white pickup truck into the water at a Florida beach before he was arrested – giving a big grin during his mugshot.

Jason Brzuszkiewicz, 49, decided to take his truck for a spin in the ocean Tuesday morning in New Smyrna Beach.

Brzuszkiewicz accessed the beach by driving around a closed gate that had a ‘DO NOT ENTER’ sign on it and declined to pay the toll fee to have his car there.

The beach was closed at the time due to high tide as witnesses captured the man’s truck being driven in the rough waves.

Police from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office eventually caught up to Brzuszkiewicz as he told them: ‘It’s not my fault the truck don’t surf,’ and laughed about it.

He was charged with failure to pay vehicular access fee and was taken to Volusia County Branch Jail and is being held on a $200 bond.

The bizarre video begins as Brzuszkiewicz’s truck drives through rough waves along the water.  As the white waves slam against his vehicle, Brzuszkiewicz keeps driving forward as his truck starts to sway back and forth from the force of the water.

At one point, his car is taken in by the current and goes deeper into the ocean before he tries to steer out of it.

Just as he’s about to make it to shore, his car uncontrollably spins back into the water, directly into the crashing waves.

The video then turns to bodycam footage as Brzuszkiewicz sits on the sand with his black baseball hat covering part of his face.

One of the officers informs another about the situation as Brzuszkiewicz interrupts them and says: ‘It’s not my fault the truck don’t surf! I thought I was surfing,’ he told the police.

‘Yeah, but you shouldn’t be driving on the beach with the gates all closed,’ an officer says to him.

‘I thought I was in England,’  Brzuszkiewicz says.

The officer responds: ‘You thought you were in England?’

‘Yeah,’ Brzuszkiewicz says with a big smile on his face.

‘You’re not in England,’ the officer responds.

Brzuszkiewicz then laughs and asks the officer: ‘We’re not in Kansas anymore?’

‘No,’ the cop responds.

Brzuszkiewicz then asks: ‘Can I get in trouble for that?’

‘Yeah, yeah- jail time if need be,’ the officer tells him.

‘Really? How much?’

‘Misdemeanor at this point,’ the officer tells Brzuszkiewicz before the video shows another cop arresting him as he asks if he can make a phone call once he’s at the jail.

‘Fantastic, that’ll make the Facebook page today,’ the cop whose bodycam recorded the incident says.

Commenters flocked under the video that was posted to the sheriff’s department’s Facebook page, as one said: ‘We allow driving on the beach, not in the ocean.’

‘Hopefully he has Farmer’s insurance because they have seen a thing or two,’ another said.

‘He was on the way to save the orcas in Japan,’ another wrote, refencing whales trapped by ice in Northern Japan.
