  • Judge Cynthia Lopez, 47, recused herself from Sidney Southerland’s case on Monday
  • The mom-of-two claims the judge contacted her on swingers’ app 3Fun
  • Southerland produced a message showing a profile with the judge’s photo which stated she was looking for ‘hot sexy fun’ with other couples

A New York judge has recused herself from a child custody case after a mom claimed she tried to woo her on a swingers’ app.

Sidney Southerland produced a message allegedly sent to her by Judge Cynthia Lopez, 47, on 3Fun, an app for ‘sexually free singles’.

Her purported profile featured a photo of the judge in a skimpy dress and heels and stated she was part of a couple ‘looking to have some hot sexy fun’ with other couples.

Lopez recused herself from Southerland’s custody hearing on Monday in a brief virtual teleconference with her lawyers.

It came after Southerland claimed Lopez contacted her on January 24, giving her name as ‘Cynthia’ and asking how she was doing.

Southerland claimed she recognized the judge  in racy pictures being used on the profile from their numerous court exchanges

The profile listed her as bisexual and said she was in a partnership with a man known as ‘Ant’.

‘We are a full swap [couple] in an [ethical non-monogamy] dynamic looking to have some hot sexy fun with other full swap [couples] and single ladies,’ the profile read.

‘We love thick girls just as much as we love petite girls! At the end of the day it’s all about personality. Guys at the most should be stocky and I the female, prefer males to be somewhat endowed.’

Southerland said she immediately recognized the photo on the profiled and replied: ‘B**** you know who the f*** I am’ before being swiftly blocked.

The mom said she first encountered Lopez in the courtroom in February 2022 and has seen her several times virtually and in person since.

She said she was stunned when she came across the profile.

‘She’s in lingerie, she is on her sofa wearing heels, she has this big long list all about her which you can read. I know it’s her because I’ve seen her before in court,’ Southerland said.

Southerland posted about the situation on TikTok and X, sharing pictures of the profile and the message she received. The posts captured the attention of child services who then apparently emailed the courts suggesting that the mom posed a ‘judicial threat’ to Lopez.

Southerland’s children Saniya, now 9, and Saint, 4 were taken by the city’s Administration for Children’s Services in February 2022.

The removal occurred after cops stormed her mom’s Bronx apartment on July 28, 2021 and arrested Southerland, according to a lawsuit she filed against the police in September 2022 saying they showed no cause.

Over the years she has had several brushes with the law and pleaded guilty to assault three times between 2015 and 2017. She was given mental health counseling or probation in each case.

Southerland’s complaint was referred by ACS to the Office of Court Administration.

‘Since the court was made aware of this matter, and placed it under review, it would be imprudent to comment further at this time,’ OCS spokesman Al Baker said.

Lopez declined to comment to the New York Post and directed all queries to the OCA.

Lopez was appointed to serve in the Bronx County Family Court on June 14, 2021.

She is a member of the Latino Judge’s Association, New York City Family Court Judge’s Association, and the New York State Judge’s Association. Judge Lopez is also a member of the Family Court Advisory and Rules Committee.

She will be replaced in the custody case by Judge Fiordaliza A. Rodriguez, according to Southerland’s attorney, George Gilmer.

DailyMail.com has contacted NY Courts and the ACS for comment.
