It’s rivalry week! Anytime the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles square off against one another can bet your bottom dollar it’s going to be a slugfest with plenty of physicality and trash talk to go around. This Week 14 matchup is no exception and should be even more entertaining considering the NFC East title is probably hanging in the balance.

Today, we are going to take a look at a few key matchups to keep an eye on that could help sway the game in the Cowboys favor. If they can win these individual battles it would go a long way in securing the victory, but if not, it could be the reason why this game slips the their fingers like their previous matchup back in Week 9.

The last time the Cowboys and Eagles squared off against one another in Week 9, RT Terence Steele had one of his worst performances of his entire professional career. He gave up 12 QB pressures, seven hurries, and four sacks. While he’s performed much better since then, you can bet Philadelphia’s going to do their best to have a repeat performance in this Week 14 grudge match. The Eagles will surely test him early and often, and if he ends up struggling, Dallas would be wise to get him a little help if/when needed. If No. 78 holds his own, Dak Prescott should shred Philadelphia’s secondary.

Keep an eye on Jake Ferguson in this Week 14 matchup with the Eagles. He not only has become Dak Prescott’s security blanket in the passing game, but caught seven of 10 passes thrown his way for 91 yards and a touchdown back in Week 9 when these two teams last played each other. Considering the Eagles suspect secondary and linebacker corps, and their need to contain CeeDee Lamb, No. 87 should once again be a huge factor in Dallas’ aerial attack. It actually wouldn’t be all that surprising if he ends up being the Cowboys leading receiver when all is said and done.

Despite being the league leader in interceptions (8) and breaking the pick-six record (5) so far this season, opposing teams are starting to pick on DaRon Bland in the passing game. The last two weeks alone we’ve seen both Seattle and Washington have success throwing the ball is way, and despite having back-to-back interceptions in both of those games, there seems to be no fear when targeting him. Look for the Eagles QB Jalen Hurts to see if he can have similar success with his talented group of receivers. No. 26 is probably fully aware of all of this and will be looking for his chance to increase his INT total on the season.
