The Buffalo Bills‘ Sunday Night clash with the New York Giants took a worrying turn when running back Damien Harris was taken from the field in an ambulance.
Teammates immediately called for medical attention after the running back was involved in a nasty collision with Bobby Okereke shortly before halftime. Harris lay motionless on his back while doctors and staff immediately ran to his aid.
The frightening scenes come less than a year after teammate Damar Hamlin needed resuscitation on the field and the safety was visibly emotional while watching on from the sidelines.
There was, however, an encouraging sign before Harris was taken from the field. The 26-year-old gave a thumbs up after being put on a stretcher.
Soon, more positive injury news arrived courtesy the Bills, who revelaed Harris had suffered a neck injury. Thankfully, he had movement in his arms and legs and was being driven to the hospital for testing.

He was taken from the field in an ambulance which carried the name and number of Hamlin, who went into cardiac arrest and needed resuscitation on the field during a ‘Monday Night Football’ game against the Bengals in January.
The safety collapsed after making a tackle in the early stages of the Bills’ trip to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Medics performed CPR on Hamlin, who was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically-induced coma. He remained in a Buffalo hospital for over a week before making a remarkable back to the NFL earlier this season.
